Place all ingredients (except chocolate chips) in blender and blend until smooth.
Refrigerate blended ice cream mixture in the refrigerator for 1+ hours. This helps to ensure it will freeze properly in your ice cream maker.
Place in ice cream maker and process according to directions
When ice cream is starting to solidify, add chips and allow maker to mix in chips thoroughly
Enjoy immediately as a soft ice cream. Once you place this ice cream in the freezer it will freeze very solid so it's advisable to eat it right away or be prepared to allow it to thaw at room temperature for roughly 30 minutes prior to attempting to scoop.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, use agar-agar in place of gelatin.
