Nothing is worse than scratchy, dry and cracked feet! In the summer it’s easy to remember to keep up with foot care, since we’re all wearing sandals and flip-flops… but as soon as the weather turns cold we often forget to pamper our feet, since they’re all covered up in socks, shoes and boots!
Even though I take great pride in living a healthy, naturally crunchy lifestyle, you’ll never catch me with a chipped pedicure or yucky feet. But that’s not because I treat myself to regular salon pedicures; in fact, I haven’t had a “real” pedicure in nearly 2 years (last one was pre-vacation 2016).
By choosing to take the DIY route with my foot care routine, not only do I save money and time, but I also eliminate my exposure to toxic chemicals often found at nail salons. AND don’t forget that all that bending and stretching to reach your feet is equal to a yoga class, so a DIY pedicure also counts as exercise in my book.
While it seems easy enough, a DIY pedicure isn’t always so. Let be honest, it’s often messy and time consuming.
But I’ve got the secret to making your DIY pedicure fast and fun; Amopé Pedi Perfect Extra Coarse Electronic Foot File!
Since I have already been doing my DIY pedicures for YEARS, I was so excited to have the opportunity to try out Amopé Pedi Perfect Extra Coarse Electronic Foot File! The part of my pedicures that I dislike the most is all the messy scrubbing, scrubbing, scrubbing with pumice stones and other crazy grater-like gadgets.
When I headed to my local CVS to pick up my Amopé Pedi Perfect Extra Coarse Electronic Foot File, I was shocked (and excited) to see that not only do they offer regular drugstore finds, but they also offer a wide variety of all-purpose household items too! Immediately I knew that I NEEDED to share the recipe for my DIY Silky Smooth Foot Soak, since all the ingredients were available there!
To make my Silky Smooth Foot Soak:
In a large basin, combine warm water, apple cider vinegar and hydrogen peroxide.
When the vinegar and peroxide are combined at full strength, it creates peracetic acid. This acid helps to loosen and soften all the dry skin on your feet. Now don’t panic, we’re not using it at full strength, remember we’re adding water to dilute it!
If your skin is VERY sensitive, start with about 1/4 cup of each vinegar and peroxide to 1 gallon of warm water. If your feet easily gets thick calloused heels and flaky skin, feel free to experiment with stronger dilutions. I have used equal parts vinegar/peroxide/water without any adverse effects. Please use your best judgement & common sense.
Vinegar and peroxide also are amazing for helping to eliminate athlete’s foot and toe nail fungus when used regularly as a part of your foot care routine.
If you are a fan of essential oils, you can also add your favorite scent to your foot soak as well. I like lavender and tea tree the best.
Sit back, relax and allow your feet to soak for about 30 minutes. Read a book or meditate while that yucky, scratchy skin softens to be easily removed.
Amopé Pedi Perfect Extra Coarse Electronic Foot File does all the work for you! It gently, yet effectively, sloughs off all the dead, dry and calloused skin from your feet. Amopé also makes a Wet/Dry Rechargeable Foot File that works great! It’s waterproof so you can tackle your dry feet and cracked heels in the shower or while in the bath tub.
Gone are the days of scrubbing and brushing. Amopé Pedi Perfect Foot File makes removing dead, dry skin so much easier.
The extra coarse roller head with long lasting micro-abrasive particles comes with finely ground diamond crystals. It buffs away hard skin leaving you with visibly and touchably smooth feet. Gently rotate the file over hard skin and see the dead skin disappear.
Lastly, moisturize your feet with some coconut oil (also from CVS, I had no idea they had such wholesome products there!) to keep your feet soft and smooth in between your pedicures.
Everything you need to create a beautiful & healthy DIY pedicure holiday gift can be found at your local CVS. No need to stop at a bunch of different stores, when they’ve got all bases covered. Here’s the only thing I need to warn you about, the Amopé Pedi Perfect Extra Coarse Electronic Foot File can be a little difficult to find in the store, I had to take 2 laps before I located it with help from a store employee. It’s found near the other foot care items on the foot care aisle, you know the athlete’s foot powder and moleskin blister thingies.
After you grab your Amopé Pedi Perfect Foot File, pick up an organic apple cider vinegar & hydrogen peroxide for the foot soak and a coconut oil for a moisturizer. Pack it all up in a cute basin with a small towel and holiday swag for the perfect gift!
