Occasionally I get really envious of people who create fun and exciting weekly meal plans and then go shopping for ingredients. That’s not how things work here…. We keep our freezer stocked with bulk purchases of pasture raised meats and wild hunted venison, we eat in-season veggies & fruits (or those that we’ve put up from the previous season). Rarely do we eat fresh zucchini outside of when it’s growing in our summertime back yard garden, so of course I’m envious of zoodles in December.
My meal planing starts by browsing my freezer for what looks good or in the case of ground turkey – what I have a bunch of and needs used up. And then I pair that protein with other goodies on hand…..
By accident (truth) I ordered extra blue cheese from our recent Azure Standard drop, so that’s been also lingering in the back of my mind to use up…
I got my creative juices flowing and had a great idea, let’s make Buffalo Turkey Meatballs.
Here’s another easy and delicious recipe, that’s low in carbs but full in flavor!
And I don’t know about you, but these photos are so pretty they are making my mouth water…
Tonight’s dinner may not have been laid out in a fancy-smancy weekly meal plan, I may not have shopped for the ingredients at the store, but it’s drool worthy none the less… and who knows.. maybe some of you will include these February Friendly Foods in your meal plan soon!
