You can easily make your own Fresh Mint Extract! It’s so easy, you’ll never have to buy it again! And it’s a great way to preserve all the mint your garden will be growing this summer.
Here’s what you need:
- Fresh Mint Leaves
- Vodka, preferably Organic
- Jar/bottle with tight fitting lid
For each 1/2 pint jar I used 1 cup of vodka with about 25 fresh mint leaves. Coarsely chop/bruise/muddle your mint leaves and combine in your jar with vodka.. seal it up and let set for 1 month in a dark cabinet, shake it up occasionally.. then strain to remove your mint leaves and there’s your fresh mint extract!!
For another option.. add in a Vanilla Beans (Click HERE to order) to make a Vanilla Mint Extract, which I think is heavenly used when making ice cream!
