I love Hummus, but I made the mistake of looking at what is actually in store bought hummus (I loved sabra brand) I just can’t allow GMO Soybean Oil into my body. It’s a NO. So what the heck, I’ll make my own! And it’s great since you can customize your hummus to be exactly how you like it!
1/4c Homemade Tahini (or you could use store bought, I guess)
2 Cans Organic Garbanzo Beans, drain the beans but reserve a little liquid to thin your hummus
Crushed Red Pepper
Toss everything into your blender and blend until smooth. Add reserved garbanzo bean liquid to thin it out, as needed. I didn’t put an amount for the garlic, lemon, pepper, salt – we all will like our hummus seasoned a little different. I used 4 cloves of garlic, juice of 1 & 1/2 lemons, 2 big pinches of crushed red pepper and 2t Celtic Sea Salt. I love strong garlic and fresh raw garlic is so freaking good for you – I love very garlicy hummus!
